The IPL 2013 G Coupe is offered in a complete model, G IPL Conversion with 7-speed automatic transmission. There was no choice. Based on the basic premium from the Infiniti G37 Convertible, IPL G Convertible features VQ37VHR sophisticated 3.7-liter V6. Engine management system has been recalibrated through the air-fuel mixture and ignition timing optimization, increasing the maximum horsepower output point to 7400 rpm. To get the natural feel of acceleration, the torque curve from low revs to the point of maximum torque (5200 rpm) was tuned for linearity. IPL-tuned high-flow exhaust is a full dual exhaust design with independent left and right pipes of large diameter.
Muffler inner structure and materials have been maximized to reduce pressure and provide the appropriate exhaust performance records. The result was a 30% reduction in pressure than the Y-pipe exhaust system design basis of the G Convertible’s exhaust. As a result of both the exhaust system and engine management changes, the IPL G convertible produces 343 horsepower – 18 horsepower increase over the non-IPL models – and 273 pounds-ft of torque (+6 lb-ft).
Machines suitable for 7-speed automatic transmission is controlled electronically with Matching Revelation downshift Hard and fast-shifting Sport (DS) mode with magnesium paddle shifters and Adaptive Shift Control (ASC). IPL G Convertible also offers a sport-tuned steering and braking device sports a large 4-wheel (14 inch front, 13.8 inches rear) and aluminum-alloy opposed calipers (4-piston rear front/2-piston).
