2011 BAC MONO – MONO BAC optimized aerodynamics using CFD in partnership with the University of Stuttgart, while the list of suppliers reads like a Who’s Who of international motorsport industry. The MONO built in carbon fiber with the driver’s safety cell tubular steel, complete with a FIA-compliant roll protection system – similar in concept a DTM racing car. BAC MONO is the new seat performance car designed and built by the brothers born in Cheshire Neill and Ian Briggs. Built by and for fans, BAC MONO designed to bring level formula racing car handling, performance and vibration to a public road, but also a perfect trackday tool, car racing schools, one-make series drivers, etc.

MONO monoposto meaning as in the single seat, is courtesy of 15 years experience brethren Briggs motor industry, during which time they have been dealing with design engineering projects and consulting for the likes of Ford Motor Company, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, through their company Adaptive Space. BAC MONO power comes from 280 bhp, normally-aspirated Cosworth 2.3-liter unit mated to a shift, electronic-paddle-controlled, six-speed Hewland sequential transmission with limited-slip differential. At 520 bhp / tonne, its power to weight ratio exceeds that of the Bugatti Veyron and can accelerate to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, 100 mph in 6.7 seconds and the top speed of 170 mph.

MONO BAC drivers racing is secured by utilizing the full six points by Willans and there are secure lockers in which to store a helmet and detachable steering wheel when parked. These seats remain for the safety and optimal weight distribution (48/52 front to rear), and can accommodate drivers of various shapes and sizes for full-adjustable pedal box and steering column that can be changed for both height and rake.
