V8 Supercars

V8 Supercars is a touring car racing category which is based in Australia and is run as an International Series in the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) regulations. V8 Supercar events held in every state in Australia, and round in the Northern Territory, New Zealand and Bahrain, with Abu Dhabi joined the calendar in 2010. The 2007 season was held over 14 race weekends at various racetracks and purpose-built road circuit in these countries. V8 Supercars themselves take as their basis of both the Ford Falcon or Holden Commodore. Although they bear some resemblance to production models out, they undergo a high level of modification in accordance with motorsport applications. Historically, the Falcon and Commodore are the two most popular passenger car market in Australia. Competition between the two makes is a major aspect of the sport appeal.
